Measurement Principle

The LDL-P4 High Resolution Laser Distance Sensor uses the Indirect Time-of-Flight (iToF) method, specifically the phase-shift laser ranging technique. This method is ideal for short to medium-range measurements and is capable of achieving millimeter-level or even micrometer-level accuracy.

The principle works by modulating the emitted laser at a specific frequency and directing it towards the target object. The reflected laser signal returns to the receiver, and the phase difference between the transmitted and received signal is analyzed. Using the phase difference and modulation frequency, the exact distance is calculated.
